In the past few years, many commonly eaten foods including oats, nuts and seeds, yoghurt or eggs have gone from being called, well, just ‘food,’ to being considered a ‘superfood’ and the change can be leave many people understandably confused about why all of a sudden, regular food now needs to be called something different. Are these foods doing something to our bodies which they weren’t before they were being called ‘superfood?’ or was the term simply created to market these foods more and amp up their price?
