Adding some fun to your water….because keeping hydrated is important
Summer is officially here and now is a great time to get outdoors and have fun in the Aussie sun with family and friends. However, it’s important that while you and your family are out enjoying the long sunny days you remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. We all know how essential water is to good health. But even though we know we should be drinking lots; it can sometimes be tricky to drink enough water throughout the day. So never fear because Foost is here to help you stay hydrated with some simple ways to add some excitement to your water this summer:
Colourful citrus:
It’s not uncommon to have a slice of lemon in your water, but have you ever considered adding other citrus fruits in your H2O. Next time you feel like adding some zesty freshness to your glass, try adding some sliced oranges, limes or even red grapefruits. These colourful citrus fruits are super refreshing and are packed with vitamin C (citrus pick-me-up anyone!?)
Fruits and vegetables:
Summer time always means a great variety of fruit and vegetables come into season. So why not make the most of this by creating a truly interesting beverage. Try adding some sliced apple, chunks of watermelon, sliced strawberry or even peeled cucumber to make your water look much more appealing and add a subtle flavour to the water you drink throughout the day.
Fresh Herbs:
To brighten your water try adding some shredded mint, spearmint or basil leaves to your drink bottle. Fresh herbs are full of antioxidants and are excellent way to naturally freshen your breath. These summer holidays why not get the kids involved in growing a range of fresh herbs in your own garden. Not only are fresh herbs great in water, they also help to add some brilliant fresh flavour to a number of meals too.
Herbal Tea Bags:
There is a wide range of herbal teas that are fantastic served cold, such berry or orange ginger teas. To create a refreshing ice tea for you and your family, simply brew a pot of tea and let it cool. Once completely cool, try adding some fresh herbs (as mentioned above), lemon or small pieces of fresh ginger. Chill the herbal tea in the fridge until you’re ready to drink it and serve with ice blocks.
