Fruit Rainbow

Make your own fruit rainbow salad as a fun activity for the children. Use any coloured fruit or vegetables that are in season. Let children choose their own ingredients for each layer. They can also design their own healthy yogurt.

Serves: variable
Prep: 15 mins

Ingredients

Use fruits that are in season. You can also use canned fruits (drained) or frozen ones:

  • Choice of red fruits: watermelon, strawberries, raspberries
  • Choice of orange and yellow fruits: pineapple, cantaloupe, mango, banana, apricot, carrot
  • Choice of green fruits: kiwi fruit, honey dew, apple, pear, green grapes, cucumber
  • Choice of purple fruits: grapes, blueberries
  • Greek yoghurt

Fun additions:

  • Shredded coconut
  • Chia seeds
  • Currants or sultanas
  • Nuts

Directions

  1. Wash fruit
  2. Adults cut fruit into large chunks and then children can use Foost’s first knife to cut into smaller pieces
  3. Arrange on plate or in bowl
  4. Now mix some Greek yogurt with a fruit of your choice (mashed banana, passion fruit, frozen berries, diced strawberries)
  5. Make yoghurt clouds
  6. Sprinkle yoghurt with coconut (to make a white cloud) or currents (to make a storm cloud) or decorate as you wish

Notes

Turn into rainbow fruit kebabs by threading fruit pieces onto skewers.
